Club Cherokee offers a diverse fleet of planes for the wide range of flying needs of our members.
We chose our aircraft for their flying ease and reliability - safe flights and safe landings. Our Avionics Committee and Airfram Committee continually evaluate and make recommendations for upgrades to our fleet to match the club members needs. Such upgrades include paint and interior as well as avionics and fleet mix.
Many of our planes possess similar characteristics, from similar instrument panels to the same model radios and LORAN. With this standardization, members always feel comfortable in any club plane. It also helps to save on maintenance costs.
All aircraft have the following:
- IFR Capability
- Tannis engine heaters for easy winter starting
- Dual NAV/COM radios
- Localizer and Glideslope
- Marker Beacon
- DME
- Mode C Transponder
- ADF
- Built-in Intercom
In an effort to balance consistency of equipment with the evolution of technology, the club formed an Avionics committee to study existing and available equipment and recommend changes to provide the fleet with current technology. In 2005, the club saw the first avionics upgrade to a new stack of Garmin equipment including:
- GMA 340 Audio Panel
- GNS 430 GPS/Nav/Com
- SL 30 Nav/Com
- GTX 327 Transponder
in addition to an S-Tek System Twenty auto-pilot and JPI EDM-700 engine data management system.

High Performance
The latest addition to the fleet is the Arrow, a great plane for punching holes in the sky, for a nice family cross country trip, or for getting that complex time enroute to your commercial ticket.
The Cherokee Six is well known for its large cabin and load capacity. It can hold six adults, baggage, and fuel and still achieve a true 130kts. The Six has recently been refurbished, including a bright new paint job as well as a new interior.
